Professional Development Workshops at The Precinct

There are a two training opportunities through the Pacific Leadership and Governance Precinct to support strong PNG Government public servants (Grade 14 and above).  I would appreciate if you could kindly share these opportunities with your counterparts in Government Departments and Agencies. They are:

  • Future Leaders Program targeting public servants both in Port Moresby and across the country. The fully-funded, nine-month program with 3 x two-week residential learning blocks aims to improve key public service skills, including leadership capabilities, strategic thinking and policy development.  It is a combination of skills-based training, peer-to-peer learning, participatory exercises, class discussions, academic coursework and applied workplace projects. The program will commence in February 2019.

Application closing date has been extended to Wednesday, 31 October 2018.

  • Precinct Scholarship for the University of Papua New Guinea Master of Economic and Public Policy (MEPP) program targeting Port Moresby-based public servants. Being offered by the Precinct and administered through the Department of Personnel Management (DPM), 10 scholarships are being awarded to cover tuition fees for the MEPP program at the UPNG School of Business and Public Policy. Interested candidates must first apply through UPNG’s application process and meet the University’s academic criteria. Candidates must indicate in their application that they would like to be considered for the Precinct scholarship. Further details are found in the attached flyer.

Application closing date to the University of Papua New Guinea for 2019 Admission is Friday, 28 September 2018.

Departments and Agencies were advised of these opportunities through an admin circular from the Department of Personnel Management (DPM). All applications will be subject to the normal Government processes and authorisation from the relevant Departmental/Agency Head.  It is a merit-based selection process.
